Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All of these tools and books have been specifically chosen with my kindergarten students in mind. These tools will help channel their excess energy and anxiety in a controlled manner, allowing them to return to tasks with a clearer mind. Calming visuals and relaxation techniques encourage mindfulness, helping my students center themselves and reduce emotional overwhelm. By creating a designated space for these activities, my students will have a dedicated area to retreat to when they need a break, fostering a sense of security and control.

By incorporating tools such as sensory fidgets, calming visuals, and mindfulness resources into the classroom, I will be able to provide my students with tangible methods to soothe their anxiety and self-regulate.

These tools will offer immediate, accessible ways for students to calm themselves, which can be particularly beneficial during moments of frustration or overstimulation.

Implementing these stress-reducing tools supports emotional resilience, allowing students to manage their feelings more effectively. As a result, they are more likely to remain engaged, participate actively in classroom activities, and develop healthier coping strategies. This will not only improve their academic performance, but also contribute to a positive classroom environment where everybody can thrive.
