Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are ready to explore their creative power. They want guidance and encouragement to discover more opportunities to shine in this world. They will be offered some new Performing Arts classes where we hope to let engage in some fun and exciting new material.

The students at my school are energetic, vibrant, and eager to experience what life has to offer.

Many of my students have never seen a play or have had little exposure to the creative arts. My students are willing to be challenged and open to raising the bar they have set for themselves.

My Project

I am overjoyed to bring creativity into my classroom once again this school year. I am fortunate to use my theatre training in my ELA classes and this year I will also have some Theatre classes as well. This is a quick jolt of initial supplies my students will need to feel energized and ready to think outside the box. I have requested lots of post it notes and chart paper as we use them in creative ways to assess our understanding of concepts and they are great for creating visual support of presentations. Also, we will want to use some simple items like balls and scarves during movement and attention games. I also believe in using a lot of Mindfulness techniques in my classroom and I hope to give my students an opportunity to explore these techniques.

We are always on the move and eager to create.

These supplies can be packed up and traveled to various creative spaces within our school. As we venture on, we may need more specific items but this will help my students feel supported and validated in their creative and academic journeys.
