Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is currently in the process of creating a sensory hallway for students with autism. We have created two projects in order to make this hallway, a place where students can go to escape the overload that they may feel in class or other parts of the school building. Besides creating the sanctuary we want to give students the toys, books, and activities they can use to self regulate before they return to class now that we have a vision for our hallway. We are looking to fill it with different sensory toys that can help our students. We are hoping to provide our students with sensory tools such as fidget toys, books, puzzles and other gadgets. These tools can help regulate their nervous system and provide comfort.
