My Project

Funding a sensory toy project for my autistic students will have a profound impact on their development and well-being. The students in the class have unique sensory processing challenges. Sensory toys can help these students regulate their sensory input, offering calming or stimulating experiences to match their needs. This can reduce sensory overload and increase focus in the classroom.

Having sensory toys offer ways for the students to manage stress, anxiety, and frustration in a controlled and healthy way.

This can help to prevent meltdowns and enhance emotional self-regulation, promoting a more positive learning environment.

My goal is that the toys from this project to help to support students’ motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and social interaction. These developmental benefits will contribute to the overall growth of the students in areas such as fine motor skills, cognitive development, and socialization.
