My Students

The students in my classroom are on the autism spectrum; the grades range from transitional kindergarten, to kindergarten, first and second grade. Most of the students are verbal; however, some of the students have limited-to-no verbal communication. It's amazing to see how far the students develop throughout the year when they are in my classroom. My job, working with students who are on the autism spectrum, is so rewarding.

The students in my classroom are amazing and full of personality; they are creative, smart, fun and unique.

They may learn differently but are not different from their peers. The students are visual learners and benefit from learning through technology. They enjoy learning through educational videos, music, educational games, social skills, and building language.

My Project

The students in the classroom need sensory toys, to help students build language, vocabulary, fine motor, problem solving and social skills. It is important to expose children with multisensory learning throughout their daily learning at school. Hands on learning helps students cognitive development and build sensorys memory. In addition, fidigit toys are used to help students clam down when they are feeling anxious, or stresed while in the classroom. The fidigit toys will be used by all students in the classroom and based on their personal preference and needs. These items will help the students in the classroom have success in their academic education setting.
