Help me give my students sensory toys that will aid in classroom function
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Markov's classroom raised $374

My Students
The students in my pre-k classroom are ages 3-5. We are a very creative bunch and we love to learn about the things around us. My students come from a high need area along with cultural differences. My students also range on the autism spectrum, have Down syndrome and/or multiple handicaps. Technology is a universal language that we all understand and are drawn to. At times it’s can be difficult to reach my early learners with helping them understand basic skills. In our class, we have a technology center with NO technology. I would like for them to at least have an iPad to help enhance the lesson in a way that they would be able to understand. I want to give them the best experience and foster their creativity.
With your help, I would be able to reach my students with proper tools to help educate and evaluate my students on lessons taught.
Each child learns differently, especially at this young age.
My Project
I work with a great group of pre-k students with Autism and various disablities. My students are excited to come to school each day and learn. My students have various ability levels, from non-verbal to early readers. We are a makeup of 8 students, 1 teacher and 2 paras. In my classroom my students benefit from differentiated instruction that’s geared towards their needs. In order to learn and grow, my students require sensory breaks throughout the day.
My students learn best through hands on exploration and frequent breaks throughout the lesson.
In order to give them these break we need more sensory toys that will be high motivators for them.
For my project,
Various sensory toys, along with putty’s and high desired toys will help aid my students learning and growth in the classroom. This will help with focus and give them the opportunities to complete a task. These toys will provide the input that my students are looking for. Thank you for your time and looking at my project.
