Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Ms. Bonheur and Ms. Kearny are the Sped K3-5 teachers at NES. I am their Educational Aide. To serve our students better, they decided to combine the two classes in the larger classroom and use the second room as a sensory station where our students can go to take a break, relax, or "wiggle" when they are on sensory overload. Our children are bright, eager, and quite loveable. Some of the challenges that they have with focus and/or behavioral issues are minimalized when they are able to take a break and re-channel their energy. We want our sensory station to be warm, welcoming, and calm.
