Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are full of heart, resilience, curiosity and boundless creativity. They surprise me everyday! I’m a special education teacher in a full inclusion, dual language, inquiry based elementary school in North Philly with the best students in the world!

My Project

These items will not only benefit my students who are identified as needing specially designed instruction, but also all of third grade!

Adapted writing tools help students to develop their writing skills, and encourage them to write with "fun" pencils!

These writing materials will help them to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Additionally, sensory items provide an outlet for sensory needs, so that students are able to focus their attention on their learning. These items allow them to not only maintain attention more effectively, but also ground themselves and relax busy minds.
