My Project

Since the pandemic, teachers have noticed an increased need for students to practice social emotional skills. In addition, an increase in screen time and technology use among children has contributed to a decrease in executive functioning skills and increase in the number of students who need sensory and emotional regulation tools.

I would love to be able to provide the sensory tools and toys included in my project to my kindergarten students who need sensory breaks and emotional regulation.

The wiggle seats, wiggle feet cushions and weighted lap pad will assist students who need to regulate and calm their bodies in order to focus. I would like to use the liquid tiles for students to walk or push on when they need a sensory break. Finally, I would use the large blocks during play time as a way for all of my students to work on social skills, such as cooperation, sharing, problem solving and creativity.
