My Project

All of our students have sensory needs, and work best when they can calm themselves. We are working on students being more independent in finding ways to focus, and choosing tools and activities that they find motivating.

Calming sensory tools and activities help our students help themselves!

By providing a wide range of objects to meet a wide range of needs, we empower our students to choose for themselves. Special hands-on activities (like beading and puppet making) provide motivating ways to build fine motor skills, as well as a quiet way to re-focus learning energy. Storage bags help keep us organized, and velcro and laminating sheets are so that we can easily make labels and reminders on how to choose and use calming tools and strategies.

Thanks to you, our class will have so many strategies to choose from, and have many ways to build their independence and ability to self-regulate.
