Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have a variety of special needs this year. Many of them have difficulty regulate their sensory systems to stay focused and on task long enough to complete assignments or participate in a group lesson. Having weighted lap and neck cushions will help my students stay on task.

We must feed our sensory systems to help us regulate our bodies and emotions.

The items in this project such as the water mazes will be added to our calm down corner and be available during mindfulness to help students take a break and get back on track in a timely manner so they do not miss out on too much learning. Having a variety of tools in the calm down corner is essential for students to learn how to build autonomy and understanding self-regulation.
