My Project

Every day students come to school with big emotions of all kinds. Some may have had a rough night at home, or not a great morning. Other students come in fully prepared, but have something on the inside that is trying to work its way out. The sensory tools I am requesting will help assist the children in my classroom to cope with those emotions, through the touch of sensory items, building with magnets and blocks, or simply keeping our emotions in check with fidgets in our hands to help us focus.

All students learn differently, and in our younger years so many kiddos need to keep a hand busy, or a foot bouncing to stay focused.

The tools requested in this project are simply for that. To keep these kids focused on our academic goals, to build relationships needed, and to be ready for the day.

Kindergarten is a big year of growth in many ways. We learn our alphabet, sounds, how sounds work to make words, how words make sentences, and how we learn to read. So many of these little minds are not quite ready to grasp it all at once; these tools should help to build upon the academic teaching they will receive by helping to keep emotions in check and ready to focus!
