This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students in East Oakland deserve access to sensory tools that help them focus on their learning, just like students at schools with resources to provide them. As a second grade teacher, I have noticed an exceptional difference in students’ focus when they have wobble chairs, bean bags, and cushions that are numerous and easily accessible. Currently, my students take turns using the few flexible seating options we have. I would love to be able to provide enough seating to offer it to all students who want to use it and minimize classroom disruptions. Any amount you can give to help students regulate their bodies and contribute to me making my classroom and safe and welcoming space for all scholars is greatly appreciated!
