My Project

In a classroom serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), incorporating sensory items and extrinsic motivators is essential for supporting engagement and emotional regulation. Sensory items such as textured mats, drumming pads, and sensory toys help students stay focused on tasks. These tools create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to individual sensory needs. In addition to these resources, the use of extrinsic motivators like preferred snacks can be a powerful tool for encouraging participation, reinforcing positive behaviors, and increasing task completion. By strategically offering small snack rewards, educators can provide clear, immediate incentives that are meaningful to each student, fostering both academic and social growth.
