My Project

My Project

The products chosen will provide my students who are on the autism spectrum support and an opportunity to regulate their bodies.

Being a part of a classroom for children between the ages of 3-4 is a challenge for any child. My students typically benefit from sensory input. It helps them focus, keep their body calm, and become more involved with other students and teachers.

Our students are still learning how to calm their bodies and at the same time participate in our classroom setting. These products will do just that.

Certain motions can calm the body. Swinging back and forth provides strong vestibular motion to give students a chance to breathe and calm their body for them, as they are still learning how to do so by themselves. Wiggle seats, body socks, and vibrating pillows provide more input and have a speedy effect on a child to help them stay seated in a group and participate in the classroom setting.

Other tools can be handheld and provide visual stimulation to soothe a student and calm their inner motor.
