My Project

My students have speech and language deficits, so many of my items will assist them in improvements with communication. I also have items to work on emotions because many of my students struggle with them. These squishy items will allow the students to fidget while listening to lessons. These will also be useful in an actual small group lesson on differentiating emotions. The Sonic book will come in handy for one of my autistic students who is absolutely obsessed with Sonic. My other student who has behavioral issues loves SpongeBob. So the SpongeBob memory game will be very helpful with keeping this student interested in learning. The plastic phone will be handy in teaching a student to listen to themselves speak. It will amplify their pronunciation of words and allow for self-correcting. The daily affirmation chart with mirror will hopefully allow each student to tap into their emotions and identify how they are feeling. The mirrors are going to be used in small group’s with our sound library. It will help students know how their mouth should look while pronouncing sounds. The Calm Ball will help aggressive students diffuse and learn ways to exptess their anger and put words into their feelings.
