My Project

My students have diverse sensory needs this school year. I have students who love the weighted items for compression to help calm them. Other students love the feel of different objects to help regulate emotions. Each school year, students come in with different needs. It's best for the students if they have access to calming objects and materials to help them focus on academic and functional skills.

These sensory materials are important for helping to learn self regulation.

Students need to be able to independently cope with situations out of their control. This is especially important as they get older and will need to learn to be independent as part of a community.
