My Project

The materials I am requesting—sensory bins, a quiet time/privacy cube, a weighted blanket, an array of books, a rug, and toys—are specifically designed to support the diverse needs of my preschool special education students. These tools will create a sensory-rich environment that fosters engagement, reduces anxiety, and encourages social-emotional learning. Sensory bins help children explore textures and develop fine motor skills, while the privacy cube offers a safe space to calm down when overstimulated. Books will improve emotional literacy, and toys will promote imaginative and cooperative play. Together, these items create a structured, nurturing environment where students can feel safe to learn and grow.

Project Goals

The primary goals of this project are to:

1. Enhance social-emotional skills, including communication, emotional regulation, and peer interaction.

2. Provide sensory tools that support self-regulation and reduce anxiety.

3. Create a safe, structured environment that promotes learning and engagement.

4. Address developmental gaps caused by interrupted learning during the pandemic.

What Makes My Students Special:

My students have a range of unique needs, including developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and communication challenges. Each child’s learning path is distinct, and they require specialized, adaptive approaches. They are resilient, curious, and full of potential, and with the right support, they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
