Sensory Soothing Space!!

Help me give my students on the autism spectrum a beanbag and wobble chair with soothing sensory activities in order to decrease their stress and increase their emotional well-being.

My Project

My students on the autism spectrum are faced with so many stressors in their everyday life. They often seek a wide variety of sensory input to deal with these stressors. In order to safely engage in these activities during the school day, they need a designated area with alternative seating and engaging sensory activities.

My goal is to create a sensory-rich, peaceful area within the classroom that allows my students to relax and cope with the daily pressures they encounter.

To bring this vision to life, I plan to establish a soothing space that functions as a personal sanctuary, enabling students to take a moment to pause and attend to their sensory needs.

By cultivating an atmosphere that emphasizes mindfulness, I hope to empower my students to face their challenges with increased resilience and confidence. This calming area will not only help them manage their self-regulation but also support their overall well-being and resilience.
