Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district in the Bronx, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students group of 8 are wonderful, funny, creative, very spontaneous and my future president, nurse, doctor and so much more than I can imagine.

My students with autism love to jump and spin and it helps them to focus better in the classroom. They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. My students have many sensory needs and need to move their bodies throughout the day! This safe equipment will allow my students with disabilities to be more independent on the trampoline and use the Inflatable Pea Pod to calm down when needed.

My Project

I am requesting a small trampoline that has a handle, which allow my students more independence and greater safety. We are teaching our students to count their jumps, which also helps them academically. The sit and spin will be great for my students with greater sensory needs and help them feel more grounded. The inflatable pea on pod will allow my students an area where they can go and relax while reading a book and also getting sensory compression as needed.

My students not only love to move their bodies, but need to!

This equipment will be used daily by my students and will help them to strengthen their bodies and minds! Thank you for supporting our students!
