Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are PreK through second-grade special education students who are still just getting acclimated to the school environment due to the Covid 19 pandemic and remote/blended learning. Many continue to struggle with sensory integration and overstimulation. They will benefit from having the means to receive their sensory input needs such as flexible seating. I have also included a hands-on category sorting activity. Differentiating between and being able to sort items into different categories can help these early learners build a solid semantic foundation and improve their ability to build upon this knowledge in the future.
