My Project

Students in our Community-Based Classroom often struggle with managing their emotions and utilize disruptive and, at times, unsafe behaviors to communicate their needs. These items will help us to build a great sensory room that will allow our students to take necessary breaks throughout the day to help with emotional regulation, overstimulation, and frustration.

Emotional regulation is a necessary skill to have in life.

These items show a range of possible strategies and techniques that students can choose from in order to manage big feelings in order to work back to a baseline and return to the classroom.

Ms. McCourt Southaven Intermediate School Grades 3-5
