My Students

Our students are enthusiastic, kind, and are held to a high academic standard. They are also combating socioeconomic disadvantages, learning barriers, and communication challenges. My classroom is thoughtfully designed to promote independence in learning and social development. I work to build communication supports, sensory diets, and personal interests into our daily experiences. With these materials, we can bolster meaningful learning opportunities.

My Project

Our students have some developmental and physical needs that are best supported with adaptive sensory tools. Items like chewy sticks, weighted comfort toys, or visual toys can help calm students when stressed or motivate students to join learning experiences.

These items will support physical and emotional regulation as we do the work to strengthen our brains.

These items can be used with learning or during breaks to help soothe feelings and promote a positive classroom culture.

These items will be used in calming strategies both during and outside of emotional/behavioral crises. Some will also be choices during break times.
