Help me give my students lab equipment and sensory tools to use in their calming corner. This is an area of need for my students as I serve students with various processing skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love my students because they are from such diverse backgrounds. I teach to students at their Tier 2 and 3 levels, which means that I have to differentiate instruction to support their Tier 1 curriculum. I also do push in groups to support their homeroom teachers, which means that I also have to know their Tier 1 level. The lessons I will teach with this project will be during their pull out groups and give them the sense of pride in their classroom environment, instead of shame at knowing they go for pull out groupings. I want them to welcome the room and enjoy coming in, which makes it easier to give them the necessary supports and have them more open to learning in that different environment.
