My Students

I have a classroom of 32, 3-5 year-old students, some just starting school and some coming back for another year of prekindergarten. Our classroom will be a blended/inclusion classroom including kids with and without individualized education plans (IEPs). With students coming into prekindergarten at different academic and developmental levels, it is important to have the resources available to meet the needs of every student. My students come from diverse backgrounds and each has different needs that need to be met. They are all at their own stage of development which creates the need for a wide variety of materials.

My Project

Sensory play is so important in prekindergarten. Sand is offered daily for sensory exploration. Our current sensory table is leaking and we need a new one. The double sensory table allows sand and water to be offered every day at the same time.

My goal is to always provide my students with the best learning opportunities.

By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping that my students will continue on a path of academic excellence. My students love learning and are always excited for opportunities to grow. By participating in sensory experiences, children are motivated to engage in learning.
