This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a class of seventeen, special education pre-schoolers ages three to four. My students have autism and speech/language impairments. My program is play-based and targets their development in several domains such as social emotional, cognitive, literacy, and language.

My students are all at different developmental levels, but they all share a similar interest towards sensory activities.

Being able to provide them with sensory tables can be a gateway to engage them into many other activities that target their IEP goals. I plan to use these items to increase student participation in activities such as seeking parts of a story, counting manipulatives, and finding letters!
