Sensory Play and Regulation in Pre-K

My Project

As a preschool special education teacher, I have a very important role to provide a positive experience for students that sets them up for future success. My young learners have many sensory needs. Growth and progress occur when a student's sensory needs are met.

This project will allow me to create a sensory rich environment to help meet the needs of my students.

Many young learners seek gross motor work and movement. The tunnel, mat, and rock around will be utilized for gross motor play. Weighted items such as the weighted animal and blanket can help calm students. Light covers will help create a more soothing atmosphere in the classroom. Additional sensory toys and tools in this project help to regulate students so they can learn and thrive in school.

Every child should get an education that meets his/her needs. Sensory experiences are crucial for the development of young learners with special needs. With your support, I can create a sensory rich environment for my learners.
