Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a 3K teacher at a Title I school on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Our school is truly a barrier-free school, serving all students who come through our doors.

Helping students achieve their dreams is our goal, providing them with the tools that will get them there! Our students are in need of essential resources and materials that will benefit them during instruction.

My Project

Little ones learn with their whole bodies. Sensory activities for students in 3K are a very important part of that whole-body learning.

The sensory play exposes children to many new experiences, textures, and materials.

It is calming for many children and also presents children with a new language that they might not otherwise experience – rough, smooth, clumpy, brittle.

During the center time, students love to play with kinetic sand and paint but these materials can only be used a certain amount of times so it is necessary to replenish them often.
