My Project

For special needs students, learning can be a challenge. As a teacher, I want nothing more than to have my students be comfortable everyday and be excited to learn. By giving my students an inviting and colorful carpet and lap desks, they are excited to come to the meeting area everyday. With this project, my special needs students will be able to use an interactive way of learning and have different sensory items on hand to help create a supportive environment that caters to each students needs.

My students have such unique abilities and ways of learning and as a teacher it is so important to understand each students special needs and abilities to help them thrive, and this project does exactly that, to help them reach their full potential.

I want this project, specifically the storage sacks, chair bands for fidgety kids, squishy sensory discs and fidget toys, help meet my students sensory needs and give them the opportunity to have materials and objects they can use to cope and self regulate. By giving students a hands on approach to learning such as the magnetic letters and magnets, it helps them focus and stay engaged during class. With all of these different colorful sensory items, we can work together to give my students all the means they need to succeed.
