This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Want to make a difference in a child’s life and in their classroom? If your answer is “yes” then this is the right project as you will be supporting students with unique abilities, skills, and who are in the autism spectrum disorder.

My students have unique needs that prevent them from being with their same-age peers.

My students are in a federal setting lll classroom where we focus on helping them learn how to self-regulate, be able to participate with their same-age peers and academics while meeting their unique learning needs. My students are mainly in the autism spectrum disorder and have high needs and need many sensory input. My students need a quiet sensory area where they can regulate their emotions and their sensory needs.

Our classroom needs a visual space where they can learn how to calm their emotions and help them regulate their bodies and feelings. Having a calming area where they feel comfortable and safe is a must for students with autism as they have many sensory needs that cannot always be met in a regular classroom. Having a flexible setting, calming tent, and sensory sacks can help them stay focused and motivated to complete their academic and improve their attention spam.

Help me provide my students with unique sensory needs and help them have a safe space where they can regulate their emotions and bodies to be able to participate more frequently with their same age peers.
