My Project

My students need tools to help them calm down. I will be using books, music box, rainstick, timers, and Lollipopter to practice mindfulness. Every day in school can be demanding, and I want to help my students focus and learn. Students should be allowed to have a quiet moment and rest their minds. Just as adults do in their own jobs and lives, students need to be able to take mental breaks. Timers will be used to give students time to calm down and refocus. The music boxes will help students pace the cadence of their own bodies and help to slow the tempo if needed.

A lollipopter will allow students to have a sensory object to help them calm down and refocus their behavior, allowing them to be more mindful.

This effective method of relieving stress and increasing focus will be a positive addition to our classroom. Students will be able to self-monitor their usage and be responsible for their needs when these additional tools are available to them.
