My Project

As a Special Education teacher, I have multiple students that I see with different needs. This year I have several autistic students that would benefit from sensory items to help them learn better.

Sensory play promotes language development, encourages problem solving, helps with self-regulation and can also help to reduce anxiety.

A sensory-informed classroom supports all the sensory needs of the students. Sensory tools help support participation in the subject matter. They can also help to develop social skills, emotional regulation, and manage classroom behaviors.

The items that I am asking for will meet my students needs by providing them the sensory tools designed to stimulate one or more of a child’s senses. They are especially helpful for children on the autism spectrum to soothe and calm when they are overstimulated.
