My Project

Many elementary students have big emotions and do not know what to do with those emotions. My Second Graders will be able to learn how to show their emotions appropriately and to treat others with kindness by practicing scenarios from these real life prompts with the Scholastic News Sticky Situation Cards. I will be able to help guide elementary students to resolve problems and also help with their big emotions. Students will be able to use the weighted plushies to calm their nerves and take a break when the student has big feelings.

It is very important to teach students how to treat others and be aware of situations that they will come across in elementary school so they can resolve problems on their own.

Students will learn to show kindness even when disagreeing with another student and how to resolve problems at school.

There are many students in my classroom that need additional support when loud noises occur and need noise cancelling headphones for their ears. These headphones can be worn during lunch, events with big groups of people, assemblies, and going to an area where students need a quieter environment.

My goal is to have multiple resources in the classroom where students can grab what they need and when they need it. I want all of my students to feel safe and calm when they are at school.
