My Students

Our students attend the largest Head Start Center in Montgomery County, Ohio. 100% of the children receive free lunch and live below the poverty line. They come to school ready to interact with their friends and create meaningful relationships with their teachers. We create a safe place so the children can be children. They are focused on learning instead of surviving while at school. Our children deserve the very best, they need a head start to be more successful in their future education and life goals.

My Project

We have a list of seat cushions, weighted lap pouches, and fidgets for children to maintain focus during learning times in preschool. Many of our children have sensory or processing disorders that don't allow them to sit still long enough to learn at group times. The seat cushions are designed to allow children to fidget and remain at the table or in the group activity without disrupting other children and their learning. The weighted lap pouches will have the same effect. Our goal is to give children a head start in being successful in Kindergarten. We focus on Kindergarten readiness daily. These items will allow children to self-regulate and focus on what they are learning.
