My Project

Flexible seating in rocking chairs and wobble stools allow students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean, or stand, increasing oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow, and core strength. This will help keep their minds alert and focused. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive. Flexible seating options provide the necessary sensory input to help students focus on learning.

Sensory input helps our students to focus and process information.

The sensory floor tiles, sensory wall mats, and mirror will be used to create a sensory wall in our classroom that will provide tactile and visual stimulation to help meet the sensory needs of our students. Lastly, the weighted vest helps calm students; the snug vest feels like a tight hug providing a sense of safety and security. The added weight helps provide proprioceptive input increasing students' body awareness.
