My Project

As a first year special education teacher in a K1/2 SC classroom I need to provide my students with the tools that will help to foster self-regulation and emotional skills. These sensory items like the weighted vest and sensory tunnel will help with relaxation and focusing during classroom activities and help them to concentrate on learning.

When students regulatory and emotional needs are not met, unsafe behaviors may occur for themselves and others.

Receiving these sensory items, I will have the opportunity to engage the minds of my students which will decrease their anxiety level and reduce unsafe behaviors for themselves and others, and make learning easier in the classroom.
