My Project

Children with autism often have difficulty with sensory overload and spatial control. When they have a sensory overload and are feeling overwhelmed in their environment; sensory items such as a weighted vest, sensory bin, and magna-tiles will help them in their ability to self-regulate.

Sensory items, when provided to children with autism aid in self-regulation, which aids in decreasing self-injurious behaviors and aggression towards others.

When given these sensory items, my scholars will be less likely to engage in negative behaviors, and will be provided with the stimulation they need to function as effectively as they can in their environment.
