My Students

Our school is located in a beautiful coastal community. The students that attend our school come from various backgrounds, ability levels and experiences. Our school serves children from all backgrounds and languages. We serve a high number of English as a Second Language Students. We are a Title I, high poverty school.

My kindergarten class this year consists of 16 kids.

My Project

I am creating the Sensory Fun project to hopefully get materials for our sensory center. Some students entering Kindergarten come in with fine and gross motor skill deficiencies. The use of sensory play materials help to build motor skills and promote problem-solving. Sensory play also has the added benefit of helping the students to relax throughout the day.

Sensory learning will encourage the children to use the 5 senses to learn and create.

It is my hope to create this sensory center and build it up as time goes on.
