Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Kindergarten students are 4 and 5 year olds that attend our local community school. All of the children are from low income families and eligible for free lunches. Many of the students live in temporary housing including shelters, or are doubled up with extended family members.

Many students struggle to come to school on a daily basis.

However, with constant outreach to parents and working with families their attendance has been improving.

Our students are a special group of children who enjoy learning and are always curious about learning new things. The especially enjoy reading stories and writing their own books.

My Project

My project is created for my students to work on fine motor skills. By getting the zoob, avalanche game, and pencil grips, this will allow for my students to work on their fine motor skills such as handwriting.

Our students enjoy writing.

Currently we are teaching them to write sentences with out power words. The sentence strips will be very useful for our kindergarteners.

Our students love creating beautiful pictures. We would like new paint so students can participate in finger painting, sponge painting, marble painting, and Q tip painting. The ball with digraphs and blends will be used for a game to play during morning meeting.
