This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We all want effective inclusion of our children within the autism spectrum disorder so they can reach their full potential by becoming high functioning and academically successful students.

Sensory overstimulation is a huge challenge for my Pre-K autistic students, this often causes involuntary meltdowns, so they need sensory self-regulation tools and a calming environment to help them in focusing on the new knowledge.

I would like to create a sensory-friendly space with age-appropriate tools for sensory regulation, to teach them how to block out sounds that bother them, how to reduce and regulate stimming or stereotyping which will also reduce meltdowns and allow them to be more effectively included and engaged in academic and social classroom activities.
