Sensory-Friendly Classroom: Helping Every Child Succeed!

Help me give my students the sensory input they truly need to regulate themselves. Many of the items in our cart provide this for our children.

My Project

Sensory items like mirrors, spinning chairs, rocking chairs, and other tools can help students with autism by providing essential sensory input that supports focus, self-regulation, and comfort.

Mirrors can be particularly helpful for self-awareness and promoting communication skills, while spinning chairs or rocking chairs offer calming motion that helps some students with sensory sensitivities manage overstimulation or anxiety.

These tools allow students to engage in self-regulation, promoting a better learning environment where they can remain calm and focused. Spinning chairs or rocking chairs can provide rhythmic motion that helps students stay grounded, while other sensory items—like textured toys or fidget tools—offer tactile stimulation that can enhance concentration and prevent restlessness. By addressing individual sensory needs, these items create a more adaptable and inclusive learning environment, fostering better attention, participation, and emotional balance for students with autism.
