Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a beautiful school, in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, with 97% minorities and my Autism unit hosts over 90 students. My school is a Title I school. Many of my students are hyper and hypo sensitive causing them to act out physically towards themselves and others. All my students are on free and reduce lunch meaning they come from low-income families.

I am requesting sensory furniture and items that will allow my students to release their frustration due to over-stimuli, in hopes of preventing them from hurting themselves or others.

Your donation will help soothe my students with Autism by allowing them to release their anxiety and create a safer and more peaceful classroom environment, where learning will be more conducive.

I am requesting four Wiggle Feet Sensory Cushions.
