My Project

My students are Preschoolers who love and enjoy play base learning! They come to class excited to play and are very curious about ALL hands on learning. They have various different backgrounds, but they all share their love for school and play. My classroom is in need of items to help with our student’s sensory and motor skill needs. Helping our student with these developmental goal will help them continue their love for learning.

Sensory play is a very important role in our students development.

Sensory play helps a child engage their five senses and it also helps their language skills and motor skills. My goal as their teacher is to promote exploration, creativity, curiosity. Which is why these Items are all very important to our class room.

The light table tablets would be implemented to our daily small group routine. During this group time our students will have the opportunity to explore their Cognitive development with this sensory item. The Sharkwoods Magentic Wooden toys will be implemented to our daily small group help our students improve their fine motor skills. The type of movement involved in sensory play such as squeezing, pinching, sorting, placing, and scooping. The emotions coin drop will be implemented to our daily large group. During this group time our students will have the opportunity to explore motor skills and discuss their feelings. Allowing each student to have a turn and discuss how they are feeling and it is a great learning resource to engage students in conversations about their emotions or to motivate them to play independently. Play-based learning environments also provide opportunities to explore and learn about the world around them.
