Sensory Exploration for Children With Autism

Help me give my students the ability to be creative musically and enjoy exploration through a variety of sensory and stem experiences.

My Project

Kinetic sand, musical instruments and the other materials asked for can provide a powerful tool for supporting my students with autism. They learn through play and exploration and these materials provide sensory, emotional and developmental benefits. Kinetic sand and making snow offers a tactile experience that can help regulate our students sensory input, while improving their fine motor skills. The musical instruments enhances their communication skills serving as an alternative way for our nonverbal or minimally verbal children to communicate.

Using all of these tools such as sand sets or musical instruments in tandem can create a multi-sensory learning environment, while addressing the different needs simultaneously.

All of these toys and materials have cognitive benefits, learning patterns, sequencing, problem solving, focus, emotional regulation and so much more.

These exploration materials with provide a holistic approach to support the sensory, emotional and developmental needs of my children with autism all while helping them thrive in diverse learning environments
