Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Working with students with special needs is extremely rewarding. Knowing that D75 students are able and capable of doing just about anything they put their mind to with proper guidance, activity differentiation, and materials. My students' energy matches mine. They are so fun and with proper behavioral redirection can learn effectively.

I have nonverbal autistic students in a 6:1:1 classroom setting.

I can continue to make learning fun by bringing digital literacy, visuals, and materials to positively affect and enhance the behaviors of students who struggle with literacy. Bringing words to life can change a student's life with one image at a time. Having diverse access to curriculums allows equity to prevail in our classrooms.

Having assumptions that everyone learns at the same pace or uses the same strategies to learn can only hurt the classroom. It is our sole duty, as educators, to ensure that we individualize our students by ensuring the proper assistance needed for them to learn. Rather it being communication devices or simply yoga mats to make control behaviors, It is important to know that not every student learns the same, and equity should be provided.

My Project

In my class, my students must be motivated to learn. These items chosen for my project shall ensure the challenges they face learning, physically and mentally are being met. To have such helpful sensory items, my students will feel appreciated and grateful that I took the time out to make sure they have all the materials they need to be comfortable and open to learn. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
