Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Everyone has the ability to regulate their sensory needs! When something is too cold, too hot, too tight, or too loose, we all get to make choices to help regulate our bodies. The same concept applies when learning. My students need choices to help them learn.

Flexible seating creates a classroom environment that fosters engagement, focus, collaboration, and individualized learning.

Flexible seating materials, such as bean bags, floor cushions, and wobble stools will revolutionize the way my students learn and interact with their surroundings.

By providing students with the autonomy to choose their seating options, they become more motivated and invested in their learning. Imagine students curling up on cozy bean bags during reading time, eagerly diving into books and immersing themselves in the stories. Visualize them brainstorming ideas and sharing insights with their peers while comfortably seated on wobble stools, promoting active participation and collaboration.

Flexible seating improves focus and attention. Many students find it challenging to sit still for extended periods, which can impede their ability to concentrate. With flexible seating options, students can find positions that suit their needs.

Flexible seating also cultivates a collaborative learning environment. By rearranging seating arrangements, students can easily form small groups, working together on projects and sharing ideas. This promotes effective communication, problem-solving skills, and empathy as students learn to understand and appreciate different perspectives.
