My Project

Students struggle to self regulate their emotions. Giving students an opportunity to have a sensory calming area will provide support when emotions are escalated and energy levels have diminished.

A calm, safe space will allow students of all ability levels to take breaks when needed and keep them engaged in their social and emotional learning environment.

Providing a safe, calming space with various sensory items will allow students choices to help identify their emotions and process them without distractions to their classmates. This will not only strengthen our classroom of learners, but will also provide an environment that is welcoming to all students and conducive to learning.
