Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how my students are so eager to learn something new and challenging every day. Students with Autism often need targeted lessons and activities to facilitate growth in communication with others. The materials I am requesting are highly tactile and visually stimulating in modality.

Your support in securing these items will go a long way in ensuring that my students are afforded the social skills practice and sensory play experiences they need to meet their individualized learning goals.

My students remain with me for 2-3 consecutive grade levels and will enjoy learning and growing from using these materials for years to come! The social-emotional books and games we are wishing for will be especially helpful for teaching strategies to help students with autism learn to productively express and process their emotions. The sensory toys and games we are requesting will be placed into learning centers in which students will practice and extend their abilities to develop and self-regulate social behaviors. The Match Sort Language Quickies and Grab Play Math Games will be integrated with our social skills curriculum to help our students continue to meet and exceed general education math and ELA standards while simultaneously improving their social-emotional learning. I am excited to update our specialized learning environment with more purposeful instructional tools!
