Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in early intervention. They are 3 to 5 years old. COVID-19 has impacted learning over the past year and a half through disrupting children's social experiences within critical years of learning.

These resources will help students grow in their social-emotional skills through providing opportunities for students to play and interact with each other.

Using the career costumes, students will discuss workers in the community. They have conversations and participate in cooperative play through activities like being a doctor to another student. The safe and washable sensory materials will provide calming sensory experiences via sensory stimulation through play with the materials. This area is used to help calm and regulate students to provide relief during a busy day. Finally, they will help student experiment and develop STEM skills via building ramps and discussing their creations with words such as: up, down, fast, slow, ball, and ramp. This will be done using the create-a-chain reaction STEM kit. I look forward to the growth and experiences our children will have using these classroom materials.
