Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my classroom, every child is unique, with diverse learning styles, needs, and challenges. To help my students thrive, I’m seeking donations for items that will make our learning environment more inclusive and engaging. Here’s how these materials will support my students:

1.

Sensory Wall: Many of my students benefit from sensory input to stay calm and focused. A sensory wall will provide a safe, tactile way for them to explore textures, regulate their emotions, and improve their concentration during learning activities.

2. Sequin Fabric: Sequin fabric isn’t just fun—it’s also an incredible tool for sensory play. Students can run their hands across it, watching the colors change, which helps with sensory regulation and fine motor skills. It’s a simple, calming activity that makes a big impact.

3. Preferred Seating: Flexible, preferred seating options (such as wobble stools or cushions) are vital for students who struggle to sit still. These seating options allow kids to move while staying engaged in lessons, helping them focus and participate fully in classroom activities.

4. Eric Carle Board Books: Books like The Very Hungry Caterpillar are timeless and engaging, with bright visuals and simple, rhythmic text. These books will spark my students’ love for reading while building vocabulary, comprehension, and early literacy skills.
